Safety Awareness and Managing Safety at Sea

Between 12-24 months after completing the fishermen’s basic safety training, it is a mandatory requirement that all crews are required to complete the Safety Awareness and Managing Safety at Sea course.   This course is not funded and must be paid for by each crew member.  Achievement of this certificate will qualify fishermen to progress to units towards the Under 16.5m Skippers Ticket.

Yorkshire Coast Wind Farm

The world’s largest windfarm is to be built in the North Sea 80 miles off the Yorkshire coast

Developer DONG Energy says the Hornsea-1 farm will cover more than 154 square miles and its wind turbines will be 190m tall. It will be able to power over one million UK homes with a capacity of 1.2 gigawatts and is expected to be fully operational in 2020.
